The background was created by my using the cross-hatching technique.
I have always liked the use of line and this technique thoroughly incorporates line.

The very warm red background juxtaposed against the warm brown skin tones creates a lusciousness of color, in my opinion.

This painting is 7" x 6" and I created it using gouache (opaque watercolor) on 300 lb. paper.
I truly love working on heavy paper such as this paper, which I believe is Saunders paper.

Here she is ..... "Rear View of Tara," that I completed today, using gouache on paper. I did love using the color magenta which I consider fabulous to work with considering the fact that it is exquisitely beautiful!

There are 2 Yin Yang symbols upon her derriere. Her hair is in luscious pink and purple color and the background is purple.

my Small Drawing of a Red Tree

Here is one of my newest drawings of trees. This one is rather small, measuring 4.5 x 7 inches. I really seem to like to draw on a small scale.

I haven't created any work of art greater than 8" x 6" inches in a very long time. In fact the last time I created a painting that measures at least 10" x 8" was approximately 5 months ago; this was a commissioned work of art.

Well, I like and appreciate harmony. Sometimes harmonious images are boring though. I don't think this drawing is boring because there is high contrast in it.
That is my humble opinion of this drawing.

Of course, everyone is entitled to her/his opinion of artwork. I suppose this goes without saying.

The original drawing was very time-consuming to create as the background is very detailed. I suppose one can say that there is a Japanese motif in this piece.
