I visited the Jewish Museum in N.Y.C. a few days ago and saw an exhibition that included many of Matisse's works. Included in this exhibition is a painting of Matisse's "Pink Nude" that I find extremely interesting. This particular image of Matisse's is very bold and dynamic!
Anyway, I created this particular drawing based on Matisse's piece. Of course, it doesn't come close to the master's image. I owe my small effort to Matisse's work of art.
Here is my drawing entitled, "After Matisse's Pink Nude." It measures approximately 5.5 x 8 inches. And, I used india ink and archival pens to make this image.

This drawing I created, measuring 7.5 x 9 inches, started out as a drawing of a tree. As it developed the original idea I had in mind did not come to fruition.
I found this piece to be very challenging, from a compositional point of view.
It it now completed, after spending a few days and many hours drawing it.
I see it as being harmonious.
And you? Do you see this piece as being harmonious?
Thanks for viewing this piece.... and if you wish to provide feedback, I look forward to your comments.

I created this small drawing based on Odilon Redon's image called, "The Raven."
I made this piece using the cross-hatching technique, to a large extent. I used several colors including purple, orange, blue and black, amongst others. This drawing measures approximately 6.25 x 5.75 inches and I created it using archival pens on paper.
I don't know how long this image of Redon's will continue to inspire me, but I have created several other drawings of birds based on this same image of Redon's.
The fee for this drawing is $45 plus the cost of shipping. You may purchase it directly from me or via Ebay here.
